As some of you know, I've been very involved with the Canadian Cancer Society for the last 8 years or so as a active member of the Cops For Cancer committee in Toronto. I've worked specifically on the Yorkdale Mall event and this year is no doubt going to be the best event thus far.
We've already secured our members from the Toronto Police Mounted Unit, Police Dog Services as well as Motorcycles from our Traffic Unit all for Photo opportunities on the day of the event. As if that wasn't enough, we also have a the Chief of Police William Blair and Deputy Chief Kim Derry attending too.
This of course brings me to my problem... The Chief has bumped me out of the top fundraising spot on our online system. Not that it's about winning, okay maybe it's about winning.
I'd like to beat the Chief and raise more than him! Not because it will help me gain any level of respect when we pass one another in the halls at headquarters, I'm rarely at headquarters, But rather because I'd like to prove that one person can make a difference. Of course it helps to be armed with a list of good friends and a blog.
